Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)

IUI vs IVF

About Us

The process follows these key steps:

  • Ovulation Monitoring: Natural ovulation is tracked. Fertility medications may be used to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs.
  • Sperm Preparation: A concentrated sperm sample—either from a partner or a donor—is selected to ensure only the healthiest, most motile sperm are used.
  • Insertion Process: A thin catheter is used to place the sperm directly into the uterus, bypassing the cervix and giving sperm a more direct path to the fallopian tubes.
  • Natural Fertilization: Once inside the body, fertilization occurs naturally.
  • Follow-Up Testing: A pregnancy test is conducted about two weeks after the procedure to determine the results.
What is IUI?

This fertility treatment involves several key steps:

  1. New Patient Consultation & Fertility Testing: Our specialists begin with comprehensive assessments, evaluating your reproductive health history and discussing personalized treatment plans with you.
  2. Ovarian Stimulation & Monitoring: Medication is prescribed to produce multiple eggs, as not every egg will develop into an embryo. Through blood tests and ultrasounds, we closely monitor their growth to optimize your chances of success.
  3. Egg Retrieval: Once eggs reach maturity, they are retrieved through a minimally invasive procedure.
  4. Sperm Collection & Fertilization: Partner or donor sperm is introduced to the eggs in a laboratory setting, where embryologists closely monitor fertilization.
  5. Embryo Transfer: The healthiest day-5/6 embryo is placed directly into the uterus, with the goal of implantation and pregnancy.
