What is IUI?

It’s important to note that before the IUI procedure, our specialists take the time to learn your history, goals, and concerns during a consultation and then recommend fertility testing. Once we decide on IUI as a treatment option, our specialists will schedule routine appointments to monitor your cycle and carefully time the procedure to coincide with ovulation. The process is efficient and personalized, designed to fit seamlessly into your busy life while addressing your unique needs.

Am I a Candidate?

IUI is generally very safe, and most patients experience only minor side effects. Some may notice a bit of cramping or spotting after the procedure, especially if fertility medications are involved. Rest assured, our team monitors your treatment closely and is here to address any concerns, ensuring you feel comfortable throughout the process.

For the most accurate results, we typically recommend waiting about two weeks after your IUI procedure before taking a pregnancy test. To ensure clarity and reliability, we provide an official test in our office rather than relying solely on at-home results, as they aren’t always accurate and can cause unnecessary distress.

Our goal is to help you achieve a successful pregnancy, which may require more than one attempt at IUI. If IUI does not result in pregnancy after three attempts, our specialists will work with you to explore other treatment options, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).
