Jerald S. Goldstein, M.D.
Jerald S. Goldstein, M.D., a native Texan, is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, a distinction held by fewer than 1000 physicians in the country. Dr. Goldstein received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Tulane University and graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1992. Following his residency and fellowship, Dr.Goldstein was an Assistant Professor in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis.
Dr. Goldstein the author of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility and Obstetrics and Gynecology and has lectured on a variety of topics related to reproduction and fertility. He is a member of the medical staff at Presbyterian Hospital ARTS Program and Baylor Medical Center in Frisco. Dr. Goldstein is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI).
Dr. Goldstein's areas of expertise include in vitro fertilization, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, donor egg , pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, and fertility preservation in couples undergoing therapy for cancer.
Dr. Goldstein and his wife Jennifer, live in North Dallas with their two sons, Ryan and Ben.
Carlos A. Guerrero, Ph.D.
Dr. Carlos Guerrero is originally from Colombia, South America. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he received his Ph.D. degree in Reproductive Physiology with emphasis in Embryology. During his studies at the prestigious LSU Embryology Program, Dr. Guerrero produced the world’s first bull by piezo intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) using frozen epididymal spermatozoa harvested from postmortem males. Prior to joining Fertility Specialists of Texas, Dr. Guerrero was a Senior Embryologist and Head in Research and Development at the THR Presbyterian-Harris Methodist ARTS Program in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX . He is board certified in Human Clinical Andrology and Embryology and as an In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory Director by the American Board of Bioanalysis.
As Laboratory Director, Dr. Guerrero oversees and is directly involved on a daily basis with the quality control/quality assurance and overall functioning of the Andrology and Embryology Laboratories. He brings well over 7 years of hands on technical experience and scientific knowledge in the assisted reproduction laboratory after working exclusively with oocytes (eggs), sperm and embryos from several species. He has distinguished himself with exemplary pregnancy rates.
His expertise is on all areas of embryology and andrology, including: semen analysis, sperm preparation for intra uterine insemination and in vitro fertilization, oocyte retrieval, in vitro fertilization, embryo micromanipulation techniques to include assisted hatching, intracytoplasmic sperm injection and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. Oocyte, embryo and blastocyst slow freezing and rapid freezing (vitrification), embryo culture and embryo transfer.
Dr. Guerrero is actively involved in research projects and has several publications in prestigious scientific journals. His current research interests include egg freezing for fertility preservation, blastocyst freezing, embryo growth and selection, blastocyst culture and male infertility.
He is fluent in English and Spanish and is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American Association of Bioanalysts.
Dr. Guerrero and his wife Nathalie live in Uptown Dallas.
Linda Huston, RNC
Linda Huston, RNC has been involved in women's health care nursing since 1981. She worked in obstetrics and gynecology for 8 years and then began specializing in infertility nursing in 1989. Linda has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, an Associates Degree in Nursing, and received her NCC Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 1993.
Her infertility experience includes nursing in the Presbyterian Healthcare System's IVF centers and in private practice. She advises patients on medication protocols, coordinates IVF cycles, monitors ovarian stimulation with ultrasound, and performs intrauterine inseminations.
Her special area of interest includes the emotional and stress-related issues that often accompany infertility. With the help of an IVPCARE nursing education grant in 2002, she developed a website addressing these concerns.
To further help women cope with these issues, she also helped establish a mind/body program in Dallas, which is patterned after the one used at the Harvard Mind Body Institute and Boston IVF.
Her passion for fertility nursing is fueled by personally experiencing the joy of her own two children and six grandchildren. She finds helping others achieve these dreams extremely rewarding.
